Internship Application Tracker

Applying to internships is a pipeline, not a series of one-off events — and pipelines need tracking. Log each application, move it through stages (applied → interview → offer/rejected), and see which applications are going stale and need a follow-up. All stored on your device.

Add application

Nothing tracked yet

Add your first application above — it moves through stages as you progress. All data stays on this device.

Sorted by stage, then urgency. Data is stored only in your browser’s local storage.

How it works

  1. Add an application: company, role, application date, and any notes (link, contact).
  2. Move applications through stages: Applied → Interview → Offer → Accepted, or Rejected.
  3. The board sorts by stage, then by how long since you last updated — stale applications stand out.
  4. Use the notes field to record follow-up dates and contact names.

Worked example

Worked example

  1. Applied to 8 internships in week 1 — all logged with dates
  2. Week 2: 2 interviews scheduled, 6 still in “Applied”
  3. Applications untouched for 2+ weeks get a follow-up email

3 interviews by week 4 and an offer — because the tracker surfaced the stale ones instead of letting them rot.

Common mistakes

  • Not logging the application date — “days since applied” is the number that tells you when to follow up.
  • Forgetting the contact person — a tracked name turns a cold follow-up into a warm one.
  • Quitting after rejections — rejections are data; log them and keep the pipeline full.

Frequently asked questions

Is my application data private?

Yes — everything is stored in your browser's local storage. Nothing is uploaded.

When should I follow up on an application?

A good rule: 1–2 weeks after applying if there's no response, and 3–5 business days after an interview. The tracker's recency sorting shows you which ones qualify.

How many applications should I have in flight?

Treat it as a pipeline: 10–15 active applications with 3–5 in the interview stage is a healthy flow for most students.
