Habit Tracker

Habits beat motivation — a 20-minute daily study session you never skip beats a 4-hour session you skip twice a week. The Habit Tracker turns that into a game: check off each day, protect your streak, and watch consistency build the routine that grades are actually made of.

No habits yet

Add one small, specific daily habit — “one Pomodoro”, “read 10 pages”, “no phone after 11 pm”. Consistency beats intensity.

How it works

  1. Create habits — “Study 1 hour”, “No phone before bed”, “Read 20 pages”.
  2. Each day, check off the habits you completed.
  3. The current streak counts consecutive days ending today (or yesterday, if today isn't done yet).
  4. Longest streak and 30-day completion rate show your consistency over time.

The formula

Current streak

consecutive days ending today (or yesterday)

If you haven't checked today yet, the streak survives on yesterday's check-in — so a morning check is never punished.

Worked example

Worked example

  1. Habit: study 25 minutes (one Pomodoro)
  2. Week 1: 5 check-ins → streak 5
  3. Miss Monday → streak resets to 0; start again Tuesday

The streak is the mechanism: 25 minutes is small enough to never skip, and the streak makes skipping feel expensive.

Common mistakes

  • Making habits too big — “study 4 hours” is a project; “one Pomodoro” is a habit.
  • Multiple habits per goal — one habit per behavior; stack them gradually.
  • Broken streaks abandoned entirely — missing one day doesn't erase the previous ten. Resume tomorrow.

Frequently asked questions

Where is my habit data stored?

In your browser's local storage on your device — private and portable with your browser profile.

What makes a good first habit?

Something tiny, specific and daily: “one 25-minute Pomodoro before 6 pm” beats “study more”.

How long until a habit sticks?

The popular “21 days” figure is folklore; research suggests 2–3 months for automaticity. Streaks keep you going through the slog.
