Revision Planner
Revision works best when it's spaced: revisiting a topic after a day or two beats cramming it once. The Revision Planner spreads your sessions evenly across the days before your exam, cycling through your subjects so every topic gets repeated while it's still fresh.
Subjects to revise
Revision schedule
Enter subjects, days and sessions per week.
How it works
- List the subjects you need to revise.
- Enter the days until the exam and your realistic sessions per week.
- The planner schedules sessions across the remaining days — earlier sessions get more days between repeats, later ones are closer together.
- Every subject appears regularly throughout the plan — no topic goes stale.
The formula
Session budget
sessions = min(days left, days ÷ 7 × sessions per week)
Your weekly capacity projected over the remaining days, capped so you never schedule more sessions than days.
Worked example
Worked example
- 3 subjects, 14 days until the exam, 5 sessions per week
- Budget = 14 ÷ 7 × 5 = 10 sessions across 14 days
- Each subject appears ~3 times, spaced across the fortnight
10 sessions, every subject revisited every 4–5 days — the spacing that memory research keeps confirming.
Common mistakes
- Scheduling sessions on the exam day itself — the day before and the day of should be light review only.
- Setting sessions per week higher than you can sustain — 5 real sessions beat 10 skipped ones.
- Ignoring weaker subjects — give them more sessions by adding them twice or adjusting the plan.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between this and the Study Planner?
The Study Planner allocates time by priority and confidence and builds a day-by-day weighted schedule. The Revision Planner focuses on spacing: even session spread with regular repeats of every subject.
How does spacing help memory?
Retrieving information after a gap strengthens the memory more than immediate repetition — this is one of the most replicated findings in cognitive science.
Can I combine it with the study planner?
Yes — use the Study Planner to allocate hours by difficulty, then this planner to keep every subject in rotation.
